Over 129 years ago, a group of believers purchased a house to be used for worship in the 1300 block of L Street in Southeast, Washington, DC. This house served as the first meeting place of what would later become the K Street Methodist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. John Dorritt Bradburn. It was in his memory, the church was later renamed Bradburn Memorial Methodist Church.

In 1931 the congregation became Independent Methodists and in 1952 decided to relocate and purchased the land where we now worship. In 1987 the congregation made another decision to rename the church Bradburn Memorial Bible Church. Since the church’s founding there have been 27 men who have served in the office of pastor; the most recent and longest serving is Paul Dennis who labored in the role for 31 years. Each has contributed their unique gifts to edify and equip the congregation they served. Today, Pastor Gregory Wardlow, Jr. has the privilege to continue that legacy.
